Paul M. Scott

Dr. Scott was born in Montreal, Canada in 1946 and graduated from the University of Ottawa Medical School in Ottawa, Canada. After completing an internship at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, he returned to Ottawa for his residency in Ophthalmology. He then joined the faculty of McGill University practicing at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal before moving to Houston.

He has lectured for several years at the Houston’s Basic Science Course in Ophthalmology. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology [ABO] and holds a Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons [FACS] as well as the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada [FRCS(C)] and the Province of Quebec [CSPQ].

He is past-president of the Houston Ophthalmological Society and has served on several committees of the Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Scott is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and has been named by “Inside Houston” as one of Houston’s “Top Docs” as well as being named by “Texas Monthly” as “Super Docs” both on several occasions.

1972 Ottawa General Hospital Medical Staff Prize for best student article published in the University of Ottawa Medical Journal 1970 1971, “A Review of Hemiparesis”

1980 American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award: Reissued.

1992 AMA Physician’s Recognition Award reissued to September 1, 1995.

1993 – 1999 Annual Lecture: ANeuro Anatomy of the Visual Sensory System”, 2 hour lecture for the University of Texas Basic Science Course in Ophthalmology.
